Toyota Camry Hybrid launched in India at Rs 29.75 lakh

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the locally assembled Camry priced at Rs 29.75 lakh, ex-Delhi. While it won't be the first Toyota hybrid in India, the new Camry becomes the first hybrid to be assembled in India by Toyota. Other than the Camry Hybrid, TKM also sells the Prius. To be assembled at Toyota's plant in Bidadi,Bangalore, the Hybrid is based on the seventh generation Camry platform. It boasts of a 2.5-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor. The car runs on Hybrid Synergy Drive, a system which automatically changes the source of power depending on the driving conditions. The engine and motor together have a total power output of 205PS.

Nissan launches diesel-powered Micra variant at Rs 5.57 lakh

New Delhi: Nissan India today launched a new diesel-powered Micra XE variant priced at Rs 5.57 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With this new diesel entry variant, Nissan has taken the number of Micra variants to 12 in India. Sales of the new diesel-powered Micra entry level variant will commence from September 4, the company said in a statement. The new Micra XE will be available in six colours.

Hyundai Motor has launched its premium entry-level hatchback Grand i10, priced starting Rs 4.29 lakh (ex showroom Delhi). The Grand i10 comes in two engine variants - 1.1 litre diesel and 1.2 litre petrol.With the launch of the new car, Hyundai has discontinued a variant of the existing i10 which is powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine to avoid cannibalisation.
